Born in Höxter, Germany, Marion Schmidtke explores nature's motifs, both above and below the water, through acrylic paint on large work surfaces. With nature as her inspiration, she balances the abstract with the natural. Through layers and an element of silence, she produces works characterized by vibrant colors, light, and depth. She has achieved global recognition through her participation in several international exhibitions and projects, from New York to London.
Marion studied art and music at the University of Duisburg between 1983 and 1989, where she later worked as a professor of art history from 1993 to 2014. In 2014, she moved to the island of Fehmarn, where she currently resides.
